The District of Mackenzie hosted its Annual Business Walk exercise on October 9, 2025. The initiative was designed to strengthen connections with the local business community and gather valuable input to support economic planning.

The Business Walk involved teams of elected officials, District staff, and business service representatives visiting businesses in town and at the industrial site. Each visit consisted of a 10–15 minute guided conversation with business owners, supported by a short survey. The information collected will help the District and its partner agencies better understand the challenges and opportunities facing businesses, allowing for the development of programs and services that provide meaningful support.

Business owners had the option to participate in a scheduled in-person interview on October 9 (morning or afternoon sessions) or, if unavailable that day, to complete the survey over the phone or online.

The feedback gathered through the Business Walk was a critical step toward building and maintaining a thriving and resilient business community in Mackenzie.
